Philippine Airlines (PAL) STARTS FIRST-EVER FLIGHT LINK FROM CEBU TO BORONGAN

Time to explore the capital of Eastern Samar which is also known as the "City of the Golden Sunrise!" The Cebu to Borongan service now flies twice weekly every Mondays and Fridays from MCIA to Borongan Airport.

Today, the inaugural flight PR 2651 was given a send off ceremony attended by PAL Vice Pres. for Sales Bud Britanico, PAL Senior Asst. Vice President for Visayas & Mindanao Sales Harry Inoferio, PAL Asst. Vice President for Network & Fleet Planning Bryan Ang, GMR MEGAWIDE Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC) Head of Airline Marketing and Tourism Development Aines Librodo, Eastern Samar Representative Hon. Congressman Marcelino Libanan, Eastern Samar Governor Hon. Ben Evardone and Vice Governor Hon. Maricar Sison-Goteesan, Borongan City Mayor Hon. Jose Ivan Dayan Agda and Vice Mayor Hon. Emmanuel T. Tiu Sonco.

The maiden flight received a ceremonial water cannon salute before taking off for Borongan Airport.

This is expected to boost business and tourism to the popular surfing spot that is winning the attention of adventurous travelers. This also opens up direct access for more travelers to discover the beauty and special attractions that Eastern Samar has to offer.
