City of Ilagan, Isabela- The weeklong celebration of the 2023 Bambanti Festival commences today, January 23, 2023, with the opening of the Bambanti Village Agri-Ecotourism Exhibit and Sale.

The well-known Bambanti or scarecrow festival is back after a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to celebrate the abundant harvest of the Province of Isabela. The PLGU Isabela launched the festivities with a liturgy of thanksgiving in which the many cities and municipalities in the Province took part, as well as the opening of the Bambanti Village.

The Bambanti Village was officially opened with a program and a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Vice-Governor Faustino "Bojie" Dy. In his statement, VG Dy recognizes the significant contributions made by the farmers in Isabela in creating the numerous honors the province has received throughout the years.

Participating LGUs constructed their respective booths which demonstrated their ingenuity by showing their distinctive designs and local products.

RD Troy Alexander Miano of the Department of Tourism, Region 2 and staff graced the opening of the Bambanti Festival. RD Miano who is a former Provincial Tourism Officer of Isabela was also the former Head of the Secretariat Committee.

The Bambanti Festival is a tourism, trade, investment and environment project focusing on the development, marketing and promotion of the Province of Isabela, its community life, history and heritage as well as its various indigenous world-class products, lifestyle merchandise items and cuisine as pride of place held on the last week of January every year.
